SMA Gold Prem® 2 - Powder - 800g

Food for special medical purposes. For preterm low birthweight babies when discharged from hospital. This product must be used under medical supervision.

Why SMA Gold Prem® 2 Formula Powder ?

SMA® Nutrition has been pioneering infant nutrition since 1919, with over 100 years of expertise our dedicated team are committed to understanding the unique nutritional needs of babies born prematurely. Our experts have created SMA Gold Prem® 2, a nutritionally complete post-discharge formula for the dietary management of preterm low birthweight babies who are not solely fed breast milk when discharged from hospital. Suitable as sole source of nutrition up to 6 months corrected age. This product must be used under medical supervision.

Pioneering Care and Nutrition

Our dedicated careline team, including a former nurse and midwife, supported by dietitians and nutritionists, are on hand 24/7 to provide round-the-clock support when you need it most. Giving you the confidence to savour those special moments together.

Preterm is defined as infants born at or before 37 weeks of pregnancy. Infants who are born prematurely weigh much less than term infants, this is because a significant amount of baby’s weight gain occurs between 36 and 40 weeks of pregnancy.

  • SMA Gold Prem® 2 is a nutritionally complete special catch-up formula intended for the dietary management of preterm low birthweight babies who are not solely fed breast milk
  • SMA Gold Prem® 2 is specially designed for preterm infants when discharged from hospital or when a low birthweight formula is no longer appropriate
  • Our SMA Gold Prem® 2 contains 100% whey partially hydrolysed protein and is suitable for use as the sole source of nutrition up to 6 months corrected age
  • SMA Gold Prem® 2 should only be used following recommendation by a healthcare professional. Your healthcare professional will advise you when to move from SMA Gold Prem® 2 to another formula.

Important feeding information
  • Do not add extra powder or water to make the feeds stronger or weaker and do not press powder into scoop. Using too much or too little powder can make your baby ill.
  • We recommend preparing each feed in individual bottles when required.
  • For hygienic reasons, discard unfinished feed in the bottle as soon as possible.
  • For older babies, made-up formulae can be added to food
  • Do not alter or add to formulae unless medically directed.
  • Do not warm feeds in a microwave, hot spots may occur and cause scalding.
  • Remember, cows' milk should not be used as a drink during the first year.
